Blogs, Stories and testimonies from the Commonwealth of independent Sates (CIS) Region
2015 has been an interesting year for the people in the CIS. The war in Ukraine has reached a climax, the sanctions again Russia have intensified, the BRICS alliance has taken another move towards reaching their goals, and Russia’s ongoing “relationship” with the USA and the West has taken a turn for the worse. However, on a spiritual level, God has done much.
70 Live School units have been taken into the region and 32 schools have started. In total there are 308 schools that have started and there are a total of 393 units in the field, including those that have started and those who still need to start.
In 2014 we started a church mobilization project in MinVody, Southern Russia, giving opportunity for local leaders to share their Mission Vision and church planting goals. In 2015 we had a second meeting of that kind with great success.
Now, in 2016, all of our Live School students in Southern Russia, together with the local leaders who have attended the previous gatherings, will have the opportunity to gather together in Michaelovka, Southern Russia. We anticipate over 250 local Russians will attend and will give updates on their assignment as a Russian church. Our first 2 schools have started in Dagestan, Southern Russia.
Six schools have started in Northern Siberia, which is a new territory for us as a ministry. New partnerships have been established in the Far Eastern parts of Russia.
Although Belarus has been closed for serious discussion in regards to Live School, God has done and is doing tremendous work there. I have visited a few newly planted churches in this nation, planted by Live School students in this nation.
Ukraine, due to the war, has also slowed down in regards to Live School, BUT in some way, after my visit, I saw God taking Ukraine to another level of serving the nations. Some of our school students are now ministering to soldiers on the front line of the war. New schools have started in Crimea and northeastern parts of Ukraine. Also, schools are planned for starting in the war zone.
